Exclusive: Nibedita Pal on Aditya Singh Rajput's shocking demise, "I wish we could have turned the time back, I am still in shock"

On May 22, actor Aditya Singh Rajput was found dead in his flat's bathroom. The actor's servant and watchman carried him to the bed and rushed to the doctor, who declared him dead. There were speculations of drug overdose, however, DCP Krishnakant Upadhyay refuted the claims and asked the media to wait for the medical reports, as their investigation is still on.

ETimes TV got in touch with Aditya's close friend Nibedita Pal on the shocking death of her friend. While talking about the shocking death, she also shared the funeral details and said that Aditya's mother will also reach Mumbai in the meantime.
"Honestly, I can't tell you how I felt when I came to know about it. I have known Addy for the past 5 years. When I first started my journey in Bombay (Mumbai), that is how long I have known him. I met him just a day before at an event. He was there all fit and fine in his usual self. I don't know what happened all of a sudden, it was really really shocking for me."

"I couldn't perform the scenes after getting to know about his death. I was so numb and shocked. There were so many calls that I missed as I couldn't talk about it and go through the nightmare again. It all came crashing down on me. I wish we could have turned back time and saved him. It is still a shock for me."
On being asked if was she able to reach his apartment, she replied: "Unfortunately, I have been shooting the entire day and I found out when I was on set. So I called our friends and came to know that the funeral is being held tomorrow and his mother has left Mumbai. That is all I have gathered so far. I will try my best to be there. But I am shooting again, I really want to be there as he was a special guy and a very good human being."
What do you think would have happened? "Yes, that is why it is even more surprising to me. When I met him he was all fit and fabulous. He was rocking, high on energy, and in good shape. He was healthy. We are actually waiting for the medical reports to find out the situation. Even when I spoke to his close friends, even they didn't know what actually happened, he was just found in the bathroom unconscious. Nobody was home when it happened."
Do you believe in the reports of drug overdose being a cause of Aditya's death?
To be very honest, I have never seen Addy do any substances. It is not something that we endorse in any way. If that is the case then it is very sad and disheartening, people don't understand the risks behind taking substances and chemicals. It is so damaging to your body and dangerous.
Aditya's last stories suggested he was partying and happy...
Nobody was expecting it, he was such a nice person. He was very social, being a casting director he had such a big circle. Everybody would mingle with him and he was in touch with the media, and celebs in some or the other way. He was always around people. It just came as such a shock, when I last spoke to him, he shared that he had signed an OTT project. He was supposed to start shooting by next month or the month after. It breaks my heart to see the amount of potential he had, all went for a toss.
He had recently started with his clothing line...
He was living his life, somewhere I find that when you don't stay with the family. After a point of time, it becomes very difficult and you get misguided. You are interacting with new people and getting influenced. You need someone to give you the right guidance at that time. I believe in a city like Bombay, one should stay with their family or someone who is sensible and responsible to bring that discipline to life. Even when people were narrating the incident, they were partying at his place and chilling around. That is the kind of routine that gets set when you are living alone or with roommates. There is no discipline in your life.

This is what Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has to say on the 'big AI winner' of tomorrow

artificial intelligence will likely have created a personal digital agent that can perform certain tasks for people. Gates said that the technology race to win is the development of the top artificially intelligent agent, poised to disrupt search-engine, productivity and online shopping sites. He was speaking at I Forward 2023, an event in San Francisco hosted by Goldman Sachs Group Inc and SV Angel.

He said that over the years, various industry players have worked on building a computer assistant, powered by AI, that consumers can command by speech or text to handle a range of tasks for them. “Whoever wins the personal agent, that's a big thing,” Gates said.

Painting a not-so-happy picture for shopping giant Amazon and search giant Google, Gates said that “You'll never go to a search site again,” he said. “You'll never go to Amazon.”

“Whoever wins that, it will take the current dispersed high-profit areas and move it to a single area,” Gates said while explaining how the notion of a capable personal assistant could impact the current businesses of tech giants like Google-parent Alphabet and Amazon.

Gives "fifty-fifty chance"
Gates reportedly said that there is a fifty-fifty chance that this future AI winner will be either a startup or a tech giant. “I’d be disappointed if Microsoft didn’t come in there,” Gates said. “But I’m impressed with a couple of startups, including Inflection,” he added, referring to the startup Inflection, as per a report in CNBC.

Inflection AI is a startup co-founded by entrepreneur Reid Hoffman, co-founder of Microsoft owned professional networking giant LinkedIn.
